Forgive me .. aside from Japanese, I also knew Mandarin but 'so desu ne' is Japanese ... and essentially it just means that you're agreeing (indifferently). I'm just confused why you mentioned Chinese ... I'm sorry... I used to versant in about eight or nine languages (in a previous lifetime) but .. have not touched them (save but for a few words every now and then) for well over two decades.
