Shmuel, MACRO idea is a decent idea look at it like an assembler each variable ie DSN or disp , etc etc you could set it up for extra readability in JCL for each operand to contain one entry per card..
At several places I have worked have it that way and it makes reading JCL listings. Yes it cost DASD space but for readability it can't be beat.
