My manager is __very__ good in the technical arena. He has been a OEM developer 
and a sysprog at a large outsourcer. He still does a lot of the CA sysprog 
stuff because he is so good at it. He just doesn't like UNIX. For what __this__ 
company does, UNIX is irrelevant. We only use it because we need TCPIP. We ran 
CA-RUNTCP a long time ago, but ran into some problems in the CICS area. The IBM 
stack did not have those problems. So we converted to IBM's stack. In many 
ways, the CA stack was better for us because it was "pure" (non-UNIX) OS/390 
(it was in those days) oriented.

Which is why my manager doesn't want exits coded "in house".

Given the way Europe is going, and the insanity in the mid-east, I don't worry 
about it. The bomb blasts will solve the problem for us all.
