The general overview is you first do a RECEIVE. You then do an APPLY CHECK. Look at the output to check any problems or actions that you must do either before proceeding, or after finishing. Once you are comfortable with that, you do an APPLY to actually put the maintenance on. Good luck. I hope you have someone in house with some SMP/E experience. It is not really meant for a novice.
