Not if you were only discussing conversion of the SPACE parameter. I
agree that carrying over BLKSIZE from generation to generation is
ghastly, albeit far too common.

I agree. OTOH: There are programs that were converted from DOS to MVS (or were written by ex-DOS programmers) which have hard coded Blocksizes instead of letting the dataset define them. Thus they stay constant no matter what device you use.
