I would propose "IBM Communication Controller Migration Guide" in
preference:

http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg246298.html

For example, the 4 pages on Non-SNA Interconnection (NSI) may provide some
inspiration.

The CISCO document is not the cleverest around. I'm not sure that the author
really understood some of the topics he/she is pretending to talk about. I
scanned it for "bisync" and encountered NSI (Non-SNA Interconnect). It's a
long time since I had heard this product mentioned and I had to Google[1] to
remind myself what it did. Well what it is *not* is what is implied in this
document - and it is just about the reverse of what is wanted. It uses the
word "conversion" in connection with NSI although omits to mention
conversion to what. In fact NSI *transports* the BSC data stream over your
highly functional SNA/SNI network so that the BSC serial line does not need
to terminate at the "mainframe" site. The 2780, say, imagines that it is
talking to a 2701 when it is, in fact, an NCP running in one communication
controller and JES2/BTAM imagines that it is talking directly to the same
2701 when it is, in fact an NCP running in another communication
controller.[2]

Also the document purports to suggest that X.25 NPSI supports "conversion"
of BSC to SNA. Well, this is just about true but only if you critically
include the right sort of BSC PAD.

Furthermore I can't make sense of the later suggestions concerning mapping
BSC 3780 to IP. All gloss and no substance. The word "easily" appears too
frequently to be believable.

[1] While researching NSI I discovered an IBM Systems Journal page which
claimed "Non-SNA Interconnection" was abbreviated as XI and carried X.25
traffic over an SNA network. II Samuel 1:20-27, especially 25 and 27. <g>

[2] I trust it can be seen that using the abbreviation FEP for "Front End
Processor" would not only be inappropriate but thoroughly misleading.
