A friend claims that Bill Joy was working on a better editor, lost the
(paper) tape containing the source and had to slap something together
in a bloody hurry in order to make the deadline. IAC, it is certainly
true that the "editor from Hell" is the most capable editor that you
can safely count on having available when you go to a strange *ix
system.
