That would depend on

 1. Whether he installed SimpList in system libraries

 2. Whether he violated the T&C for the SimpList trial

 3. Whether he violated local policy.

Now, admittedly there are shops where, e.g., security policy, would
make that a CLM, but absent knowledge of the shop I wouldn't try to
predict the outcome.
