I would guess, and that's all that it is, is that most thieves wouldn't
even know what they had. Unless it was deliberate business espionage,
the thief would probably be P.O.'ed because a FlexES laptop runs either
RedHat Linux or SCO UnixWare and not Windows, so they'd need to wipe the
OS and install Windows (likely pirated as well).

And, again, in most cases the thief would not really know how to crack
the z/OS system, unless it was improperly secured. Physical access to
the z/OS system is not as insecure as physical access to a UNIX system.
(There is not "single user mode").
