I get your drift, John. But, IMHO, you have a valid case. You can be more productive, if given a second userID. That means that the company will save money, if they give you one. It may be an uphill battle, but if you make your case to your manager and his/her superiors, perhaps all the way up to the CIO ... who knows, Security might change their ways. It's only in the best interests of the company that you are making this request.
