Lizette, I can answer some of your questions. If a DB2 Group Bufferpool structure is rebuilt it will go to the alternate CF from its preference list. However, the messages you listed do not include and DSN** messages. Is it possible that you are using z/OS CF duplexing? If so, I would recommend that you not use z/OS CF duplexing and instead let DB2 do its own Structure duplexing. This looks like this in the policy.
