NO. >From what I have read, you can only do as I said in the previous emails, as documented in the URLs supplied. That's just the way that it is. The ~/.profile is only read by a "login shell". It is not read by the ftp server. You're ftp client session does not have any access to the user's "environment variables" which might be set up for a UNIX shell environment. I think that I may have missed something along the line. Of what use is the PATH environment variable for an ftp client connection?
