Try loading your dataset and run an IDCAMS EXAMINE. EXAMINE has been
updated in the past few years to give you a recommended INDEX CI size. It
will also tell you if you have any 'unreachable' data CI's.
I ran EXAMINE INDEXTEST DATATEST. No clue about unreachable CIs. The key should
be well compressed - the values are: 00000001, 00000011, 00000021, etc. I also
tried to increase CI size. Started from default 1.5k, ended at 18k. Still
having the same number of CA splits. What's funny the higher CA free space the
more CA splits.
