With WLM inits and z/OS 1.8 (or above) this isn't as bad as it used to be. 
There were some problems with the new design and the work around 
was to issue "$T MASDEF,WLMPERF=OLD" to force the pre z/OS 1.8 
behavior.  So make sure you have the fix for OA21212 on and then do a 
"$T MASDEF,WLMPERF=NEW" if you implemented the work around.
