I forgot one: IBM ShopzSeries. ShopzSeries provides electronic delivery of System z software, and it is available in many countries. (The online Passport Advantage system provides electronic delivery of IBM software for Linux on System z.) IBM keeps adding countries as time marches on. I think we're working on Japan now, for example.
There may be a software price implication to ShopzSeries, at least in many parts of the United States and perhaps other jurisdictions. Beyond the added convenience, in many jurisdictions there is different tax treatment for electronically delivered software compared to media-delivered software. There are also variations in the tax treatment of MLC and OTC software, such as capital depreciation rules. The introduction of ShopzSeries provided another ordering and delivery option for both MLC and OTC, and this option has a net price benefit for many customers. Is that an MLC discount? Maybe, at least in net impact. It's situational, and please always consult your tax advisors and accountants for guidance.
