There is an IBM seminar (free) going around the country which focuses on protecting credit card transactions. I had 5 of my people attend and they came back raving about the 2 days well spent. We have nothing to do with credit cards at all, one might think this course is very focused in some specialized area; not true at all.
While it does talk about the payment card industry, they also discuss things like: 1. Overview of Security Architecture modules. 2. Overview of Digital Certificates. 3. Intro to SSL/TLS, AT-TLS, and OpenSSH 4. how to provide PCI compliance with TN3270 5. Details of Com Server Security Features 6. Stateful Firewall Considerations. Plus there are a number of labs where you implement security policies, using IBM's PAGENT, create IDS attack, scan and traffic regulation policies, etc. Even if you have nothing to do with credit cards, PCI, etc, type applications, the other things taught are very benefical. I thank IBM for making this available and the best part it was free. Besides I used it for some US Government mandated Security Training my people are requried to complete. What'a deal.
