Hi,

I am having trouble configuring an OSA port using OSA/SF.

We have OSA Express2 1000Base cards. One port is defined as ICC (OSC) and the
other as OSE.

We would like to share the OSE port between all the LPARs defined on the
computer and be used for SNA as well as TCP/IP.

Each LPAR has one ‘real’ address defined and many virtual (VIPA) addresses.

As far as I understand I have to perform the following steps using IOACMD:

1. Option 4 get_config. – Perfromed successfully

2. Option 6 – get_OSA_access_table – did not work OK. I got these
messages:

OAT data received for entry 1 is corrupted

eyecatcher IOA_OATENTRY not found where expected

        EXEC ending

I copied the definitions from SIOASAMP and customized them as I
understood.

3. When I tried to configure the OSA using option 2 in IOACMD I didn’t
get an option for a OSA express2 1000BaseT. I pressed ENTER which is supposed
to locate all the OSA cards, but none were found.

I spoke to someone who suggested I reset the card, but that did not help.

I tried varying the channel offline and online. Didn’t help

We are running z/OS 1.9 on a z890.

Our SE tells us we are up to date on all microcode updates.

Can anyone help?

TIA

Gadi
