IBM bought them all up. I just installed Tivoli advanced catalog
management, advanced auditing and advanced reporting. Looks pretty
slick. It will generate jcl for you to run to fix problems with
mismatches and missing components in your bcds, mcds, and ocds.

There is a product from Mainstar that can audit the catalog(s) tape
entries against Removable Media Manager (RMM) database and build the
necessary entries for you.

I enclose a link https://www.mainstar.com/products/hsmt/fa390ste/

Thanks for the reply. Catsynch does exactly the OPPOSITE of what I
need.
See Below.
What I am trying to do is update the UCAT from RMM. When the RMM CDS
entry has status YES, I want to create a UCAT entry.
Looks like I will have to continue to do this manually, read the CDS,
check the UCAT, create IDCAMS statements as necessary. Oh well.
CA-1 has had the ability to synch the UCAT to TMS, and visa-versa for a
long time. Its strange to find CA better at something.

16.6.1 DFSMSrmm Catalog Processing
During CATSYNCH processing, DFSMSrmm matches the retrieved catalog
information for tape data sets with the tape data set information in the
DFSMSrmm control data set. If there is a difference in catalog status
between the catalog and the DFSMSrmm control data set, a message is
issued, and the status is corrected as follows:
Status is set to YES when a catalog entry is found and the status in the
DFSMSrmm control data set is not YES.
Status is set to NO when a catalog entry is not found and the status in
the DFSMSrmm control data set is YES.

John, The link you need is this one:

?

CATSYNCH will ensure rmm CDS data set information is correct regarding
catalog status. rmm should already know the catalog status because it
tracks
it from the first time you started the subsystem.

The EDGUTIL MEND(SMSTAPE) parm is for ensuring the TCDB and LM are in
synch with rmm.
