I wasn't a fan of GROUPEXTEND, except perhaps to speed up the original
discovery of what PTFs one would actually need to be applying; I tended to
explicitly select the PTFs I wished to APPLY.

Same for us.

Likewise.  It did need a reasonably intelligent sysprog to make sure all
interested parties did see the relevant details, not always just those in
the obvious other teams.  Quite often those other depts would wish to do
specific testing of the changes concerned too, which could delay the
implementation of the primary fixes involved.
