O yeah, tape controllers? What are they? The C07 was the last tape controller and I don't remember how many years ago IBM stopped supporting them. I remember back when IBM dropped the C06, the price of used C07s skyrocketed and you couldn't even find one. That was when our direct attached physical library went down the road.

AFAIK, TS1140 (released in 2011) is the *last* physical tape drive that can attach to IBM Z -- at least of those made by IBM.
