ISPF Edit and XEDIT appear to be RECFM=V-ignorant. They appear to convert to Fixed on input and back to V on Save, corrupting trailing blanks in the round-trip. Does Edit translate the entire file on input, and translate it back on Save, or does it translate only as needed for display?
