I thought about what I said here and I wanted to make sure I did not come
across as deprecating the zD&T in general. It depends on what you want.

If I wanted to live and breathe assembler and machine code like I did when I
first discovered programming I would probably get a Hercules box.

If I wanted "a mainframe in my garage" I would do as Enzo proposes doing.

Me, now, I like developing software in object oriented and scripting languages,
software that has potential applicability to a real-world datacenter. So if I
were buying a box, it would probably be yes, a zD&T.

Yeah, I don't want a mainframe in my garage, but if I did, I would want a real
mainframe, not a PC with pretensions.
