Clearly this sentence is not necessary and as you say somewhat confusing why it 
is mentioned. In fact, "name" documentation should be rewritten. NAME must 
specify a valid SMP/e MOD entry. To say module member is outside the context of 
SMP/e if it does not reference an SMP/e object.
