From what I've been told in the past, no, because the comms link protocols
between storage servers are proprietary. It means you can't flashcopy or or
hyperswap between volumes from different vendors, it's one of the reasons TDMF
exists

In theory, all things are negotiable, so I suppose that could change, but if it
has, I haven't seen anything about it. (Don't read too much into that.) If
the status had changed, I would expect the vendor to be hawking that level of
compatibility loudly as a differentiator. I wouldn't expect IBM to say
anything, as it's up to the vendor to make compatibility claims, so the best
answer would come from the vendor storage specialist.

Sorry I can't give you more definitive information. I'll check with a storage
architect and see if I can get a better answer.
