There are vendor products that allow both physical tape and s3 access (on-prem and cloud). IBM provides a z/OS DFSMSdfp Cloud Data Access (CDA) component which facilitates the process and is used as an IBM supported API in communicating with Cloud Object Storage.

The TS7700 is also connected to Physical Tape drive TS4500. Our tape management system is Broadcom CA1. If we want to stop using the TS7700 and send our tape data to an S3 private cloud solution, but still want to replicate the data to Physical tape as well, what are the options ? Can we connect the S3 to Physical tape drive or we have to connect the Z16 directly? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
