If you construct and load a new IODF than you can restrict any LPAR as you wish.

Subject: Storage migration

External Message: Use Caution

Hello

We are migrating our current storage from DS8886 to DS8910F.

While both the storage are connected to mainframe can I point one of the
lpar to the new box DS8910F and ipl it ?

We have two zOS LPARS in mainframe and I want to try IPL one of the LPARs
pointing to DS8910F.

Out of the 6 channels . The 4 channels are connected to DS8886 and 2
channels are connected to DS8910F.

Is it possible to make the 4 channels offline prior loading the loading the
LPAR and have them point to 2 channels which are connected to DS8910F ?

Peter
