I had not seen the Douglas Shelton statement. Timothy Sipples will doubtless leap to the defense of its execrable English, and it does contain a gem: Shelton's 'workforce remix' used as a euphemism for 'layoff' is splendidly obfuscatory. It would be hyperbolic to rank it with Orwell's example of 'pacification' used as a synonym for the act of machine-gunning peasants from the air, but it does exhibit a tin ear.
