IBM's MT/ST system came out in 1964 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_MT/ST); a little later the IBM 2495 reader for it was announced for S/360. We had one at ADR after an OS/360 update supported it, but before IEBGENER support was added - I had to write a small utility program to read from it using EXCP.
