Any way to copy (clone) a RACF user profile under another user name ?
So I would like to have a new user USER2 with the same attributes as
the existing USER1.
Possible solutions:
1. Use BETA88 or other add-on product
2. Play with DBSYNC, which is IMHO not worth - too much effort to use
the tool and extract few commands.
3. Just use LU user1 and IRRUT100 against user1 and issue relevant
commands. Or use IRRRID00 with "USER1 USER2" in sysin and analyze/modify
the commands.
Last, but not least:
4. Avoid mess in a RACF. Follow rules of thumb. For regular users that
means a user does not exist on any access list. He's just a member of
few groups. Then, it's a piece of cake to create a "clone" or delete
such user. That could cover 99% of non-IT users and ...99% of IT users
as well. ;-)
The above is some simplification, since TSO user usually have access to
USER1.** dataset profile (or &RACUID.**/ALTER in GAT), etc.
However real exceptions to the rule mean CLAUTH, SPECIAL, AUDITOR - not
many users should have it.
