I as$$ume you are talking about the 'dataset' inside a job like these: JESJCL, JESJCLIN, JESMSGLG, JESYSMSG. Could you be kind to show us example of what you mean for 'header and footer messages'? I faintly remember something about where you can tell JES2 how to write+route messages in its 'datasets' or let JES2 use its default formatting...
