Bill,
It took IBM 10+ years to come up with a messages and code. AFter
constantly asking for one. IBM standard answer was "They are self
documenting" after enough SHARE and on here BITCHING IBM finally
relented.

There is no "Messages and Codes" for any IBM Mainframe COBOL

Since neither V5 nor V6 have a Messages and Codes listed, I assume
the PROGRAM-ID. ERRMSG. still works.
Be careful not to leave off the full-stop/period in the ERRMSG
"program". Up to V4 at least that reveals a minor bug (compiler
keeps hunting the full-stop/period without first checking for end-
of-file). I don't know if the same issue exists with V5 or V6.

I think its a good idea. Pity it took IBM 10+ years to put out a
Messages and Codes for the same product.
