Hi All, We've had a minor issue a few times over the past year or so. On our GDPS control systems, we have a null SMS configuration - all datasets are allocated with UNIT=SYSALLDA (I think I'm explaining this right), otherwise you get SPECIFY DEVICE OR CANCEL.
The issue we seem to have hit is that people using XMIT/RECEIVE seem to allocate enormous datasets - one yesterday was 45K tracks, 1% used, which used up nearly all the free space on the volume, and caused another job to fail as it was unable to get the space it needed. I vaguely remember reading somewhere about default space allocation being something along the lines of "whatever space remains on the volume". Does this ring any bells with anyone, or am I just dreaming it? Can these parameters be changed, and if so, where? I've been hunting but can't track it down. Many thanks, -- Andy Styles z/Series Systems Programmer Lloyds Banking Group plc. Registered Office: The Mound, Edinburgh EH1 1YZ. Registered in Scotland no. SC95000. Telephone: 0131 225 4555.
