There is a US Supreme Court ruling in this area. You, the employee, are 
required to be loyal to the entity paying you. There is no reciprocity in that 
ruling as I recall.

And I think it was from there that we finally got to "At Will". I say it this 
way, because I can't remember the year that ruling was handed down, but I do 
remember having some documents handed out at an employer requiring us to 
acknowledge (out of the blue as it were), that employment was "at will".

This is "Capitalism", making money is king. Every large corporation tries to 
sell this "Job Loyalty" to workers, however, rest assured this is a one sided 
affair. They want you to be loyal.
