Best practice depends on installation policy. If you want to share datasets with another LPAR, then you need to have appropriate ALIAS and catalog entries. If you want to prohibit sharing then you need to exclude the catalogs that contain only non-shareable entries. You also need to ensure that the IOCDS agrees with policy.
