It deletes, because it's a direct replacement, same dataset names, same programs, etc. I've never needed to backout a version, but read the program directory closely. It doesn't happen with every release, but in a few there have been toleration/conditioning PTF's for the -1 version to allow it to co-exist with the new version in a multisystem environment. Those toleration PTF's need to be on all systems before introducing the new version onto the first system in the sysplex. If you are strictly monoplex then there probably are no concerns.
Your backout ought to be re-iping to prior version of the operating sysres with HCR77C0 on it. _________________________________________________________________ Dave Jousma Mainframe Engineering, Assistant Vice President david.jou...@53.com 1830 East Paris, Grand Rapids, MIĀ 49546 MD RSCB2H p 616.653.8429 f 616.653.2717 -----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List <IBM-MAIN@LISTSERV.UA.EDU> On Behalf Of Lopez, Sharon Sent: Friday, December 14, 2018 8:31 AM To: IBM-MAIN@LISTSERV.UA.EDU Subject: SMP/E question **CAUTION EXTERNAL EMAIL** **DO NOT open attachments or click on links from unknown senders or unexpected emails** We want to install the new ICSF HCR77C1 to pick up the new function but we have HCR77C0 installed. Why does HCR77C1 delete HCR77C0 and would I be able to back HCR77C1 off if we need to.
