That is entirely possible Ed.  As I said in an earlier reply, I can ask but my 
friend may not know the answer, not being a network admin nor even having 
access to the VTAM definitions in use.

ATTN applies only to SNA (or SNA-emulated by TN3270) sessions.

Perhaps your friend's logmode specifies bi-sync (non-SNA) protocols?
