No, only in the sense that dfsms requires a CEX?S card to be installed.
Pervasive encryption is supported on z114/196 with a CEX3S or later.  The
encryption is performed by sms, which uses the CPACF instructions to
perform the actual cipher/decipher operations.  The z14 provides a major
performance boost by having a dedicated crypto processor for each core,
rather than all cores on a chip sharing two crypto processors between them.

True.  Extended Format dataset do not allow EXCP access, for instance.
Does anyone know whether JES2 spool dataset can be encrypted?
