It probably depends on which parameters for what subsystem. JES2 has a series of $D commands to display the current parameters which you can then compare to the text in the parameter member. z/OS has a similar set of operands to the DISPLAY command that somewhat mirror the various parameter members. Other subsystems and ISV products may or may not have something similar.
