The z/OS (v1.7 here) version of PING allows you to code an option to specify
which interface to use when you want to ping a remote host. I notice that the
z/VM version (level 510) has an option called LINK, but when I use it, it says
that it's only for use with IP version 6. I was able to confirm in the User's
Guide too, where it says "The LINK parameter is valid for pinging IPv6 targets
only." Bummer. I was hoping to ping test some remote hosts by going out a
specific link, but like most everyone else we are still a IPv4 network.
