The ThinkPad list is waxing rhapsodic (well, not entirely -- there are
naysayers who seem to think the TRS-80 should have won) about the fact that
today is the 25th birthday of the IBM PC. It all started with Mike Stack
posting an editorial from today's Chicago Tribune:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/chi-0608050215aug05,0,5842819.story?coll=chi-newsopinion-hed

The discussion has led to posts like this:

>My first was a TRS-80

and:

>My first was an HP Portable in 1985 ..

and (me):

Harumph...my first was an IBM System/360 model 75 with 3MB (1 core, 2 solid
state) running VM/370, the first personal operating system!
