That confusing, irrelevant line: .if no eq no .edf#mcst off
means somebody had an error in their  BookMaster document.  It isn't in the previous versions of that book if you use Lookat to see the earlier levels.
That line is just a line from one of the BookMaster macros after substitution.   Before substitution it says  .if &@[EMAIL PROTECTED] eq no .edf#mcst off  
It shouldn't show up as text though.  It might be a BookManager problem in building the online book.

I already emailed a comment about it to the email address given in the book for electronic comments.
