Jan,I thought there was a "file transfer" customization question on the 3174 that had no counterpart on the 3274. I vaguely remember something "new" on the 3174 that we had to answer "yes" to in order to make IND$FILE work correctly when we switched from 3274's ro 3174's. Unfortunately I don't have a 3174 Customization Guide to double-check.
