You have left the short, well-traveled road for a path less-traveled. You
have entered a dimly lit maze of twisty passages, with many side-tunnels.
Choose the wrong path and you may never find your way out. :-(

I'm sorry. When there's a perfectly good, reliable, available,
supportable (not withstanding the claims about lack of 3270 expertise)
tool, yet some manager inside IBM forces us to use a tool that's "not
ready for prime time" I have not a happy camper/customer. If the tool is
supposed to be a replacement for IBMLink greenscreen, then IBM should do
the testing ahead of time, before we're exposed to lost productivity.
We're paying customers, not IBMLink 2000 QA.

Re: INMLink 2000 - Unable to order a PTF

All,

We found that there are multiple ways to order this PTF. All provided by
IBM web masters/servers.

1. Use IBM's Shop z/Series facility...

2. Use IBM's Service ordering facility...
(www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/set2/ordermedia/cjh-001)

3. Wait for the IBMLINK facility to get fixed...(SRD nor SIS has worked
yet for us for this PTF. Has worked in the past for others.)

The thing is, the PTF can be acquired & you do not have to revert back to
a
green screen facility. Try new things, expand your horizons, you might
actually like them.

Enjoy

Subject: IBMLINK web page

FYI. This morning I tried ordering a PTF using IBMLINK on the web. I had
the PTF displayed in front of me and clicked on ORDER down at the bottom.
A window came up saying "There are no valid PTF(s) in this order.". I
tried it several ways with the same results. I got on to IBMLINK using
Green Screen and was able to order it. It was delivered and I was able to
download it. I tried the web version again just now and it still failed. I
called in the problem to IBM. The person who answered the phone took my
information and someone will get back to me. He did say they were having
problems with SRD on the web version. I think he said some other user
tried to look at a list and it was incomplete. The person helping me was
not able to try it because he is not authorized to order things. I'll let
you know if I find anything out. The closer the date for green screen
going away gets, the more nervous I get.
