Yes, it's an undocumented internal CMS function. We found that it is a bit picky about the arguments and maybe Kris' code relaxes some of those. I noticed in http://www.mail-archive.com/vmesa-l@listserv.uark.edu/msg01891.html that I used dateconvert w8 iso full to get the required date format for DMSPLU. Don't complain. Before DMSPLU we had to do ugly tricks with COPYFILE and OLDDATE to give one file the time stamp of another one :-) Rob
