Not if you're running CMS in your virtual machines. Simple ACCESSing the RELEASING a mdisk when two VMs have it writable is usually enough to corrupt the mdisk.

The ONLY time I would ever use MW Links is with Fullpack Mdisks, and/or when sharing between multiple guest OSes which "know" how to share DASD. But even then, it's something to be avoided IMO unless you really have a need and really know what you're doing. I've probably setup a "mini fullpack" MW mdisk to cover cyl0 + the DRCT area for use with Dirmaint and/or VMsecure somewhere in the past, but that's about it.
