It will probably mysteriously start running again and someone will have not fixed what was not changed. :-)

I don't believe this was how it was done initially because it doesn't like a tape attached to start. Also, it also abended on an I/O error at EOV. I can start looking for a version of DMSTVI through VMBACKUP now and see if it somehow disappeared. This system has been running for months. No known recent changes. User has an EXEC that does a couple FILEDEFs and a MOVEFILE. The file is extremely large and exceeds the tape volume. I've seen evidence that in previous cases the tape would write an EOV record and execute a VMTAPE MOUNT ( PREVCUU 181 with other parms. Tape gets swapped and VMTAPE chains the volumes. Nice. It suddenly stopped working. I'm having trouble locating where the code was that prevents the MOVEFILE from ending badly at the EOV and does the process. Anybody out there doing this that might give me a hint where to look?? What file I might be looking for?
