Untrue. VM supports a subset of DIAGNOSE 204 capabilities. Apparently that subset is not sufficient to make SDSF happy. There are no configuration settings you can use to change it. (Just make sure you are up to date on VM service.) In general, z/OS takes no notice that it is running on VM. It just tries to Do Something and then reacts to a failure. So, there's no pretend-you're-in-an-LPAR setting.
