Hi Darren,

The first thing that comes to mind is: Why move it? If you are happy
with your current IODF management, then there is no need to reinvent the
wheel and move the IODF to VM. In fact, you could cause yourself some
problems by moving it. Please explain your thinking a little more so
that we can offer appropriate advice.

Peter

Subject: IO Configs for z/OS and z/VM

Hi,

I've just installed our very first z/VM system (5.3 r1, but waiting for
5.3r3 DVD from IBM) alongside z/OS 1.9. I'm afraid my z/VM knowledge is
next to zero at the moment and I'm the z/VM expert! :-)

Our IODF is managed by z/OS for all z/OS and z/VM LPARs. Is there a
guide anywhere to getting the IODF from our z/OS systems over to z/VM?
Had a look in the z/VM IO Configuration manual but nothing jumped out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Darren
