I suppose it would differ based on whether you were looking for someone to train or was experienced, and what type of shop you have. For example, I might want someone with TPF support experience who could install the VSSI products and, if a dump is taken, determine whether IBM or VSSI code is most likely to be at fault. Another helpful factor would be whether the applicant had a good working knowledge of the hardware. Someone else may who has a VSE or Linux shop would have an entirely different set of criteria. Then, there is the operations support side. How heavily will the operators lean on the sysprog? Will this person be required to build and support tools that the users need and rely upon. Is REXX and/or Pipelines needed? This seems almost like a Bit type of answer - YMMV. Regards, Richard Schuh
