Try this:

XAUTOLOG AUTOLOG2 SYNCH#SET SECUSER AUTOLOG2 *

That will let you watch the startup of AUTOLOG2 and see what might be
wrong..   as others have said - it's a good bet it's the privileges (or lack
of them) --
